My steel buckles are treated with a high-quality solution that produces a beautiful dark finish and acts to inhibit the formation of rust.
However, steel is a material that, by its very nature, has the potential to oxidize and produce surface rust over time, especially if exposed to water, sweat, body moisture, etc. THIS IS AN INHERENT RISK WHEN PURCHASING A STEEL BUCKLE.
Buckles need to be kept dry. Do not wear your buckle against your skin as the metal may interact with your body chemistry.
Regularly apply an oil like baby oil, or renaissance wax polish to help keep moisture from oxidizing your buckle.
I gladly offer to clean up any past buckle at no cost, customer pays for the shipping to and from.
